3rd graders in music have been working on showing the difference between steady beat and rhythm through movement. Students have also been working on playing and writing new rhythms. They have practiced identifying and writing dotted half notes and sixteenth notes. Ask your student if (s)he can explain our game Beat VS. Rhythm to you, and see if they can sing the song “Pass one Window, Tideo” to you. They should be able to tell you where the sixteenth notes are in the song.
